We haven't fallen off the face of the planet....

It has been a ridiculously long time since I have posted. My life has been consumed with all things Haiti. I don't know how you could know me & not know that that is my whole life now. For more info on that check out www.amyshaiti.blogspot.com

I don't want to update you too much on life as I will be sending out a Christmas letter soon. I don't want to ruin all the fun.

So Rodrigo has been working like CRAZY with 12hr shifts! I have been a jobless bum. Thats about it :)

Matter of Trust

Today my friend Robyn & I headed to San Francisco to help Matter of Trust make HAIR BOOMS! Here are some pics of the process :

First you put on a mask & gloves...and if you are a smart hairstylist like Robyn & I you put on an apron:
Then you put a nylon on the pipe:
After that you grab some hair:

Next you stuff the hair in the nylon in the pipe:

The hair stuffed nylon goes out the bottom of the pipe like this:
Until it's all filled up! Then you tie it off & you get this: A HAIR BOOM :)
We filled up tons of these with booms:

We kept the alpaca ones separate because they float higher & are used in specific areas:

Robyn was pretty excited about all the hair covering us :)Look how cute & sweaty we are:

Nebraska/Kansas

In the interest of keeping things in order my Nebraska/Kansas trip fits in here between CASA & Hair Boom making....So this "post" will be updated when I steal some pics from my dad :)

CASA Graduation

I(Amy) graduated from my CASA training recently so here are a couple pics of that.

WOW :(

My Grandparents land/lakes have flooded. My cousin Tammy(who also lives there) took this shocking pictures...

In front of their Condo...
The back lake that's now connecting to the front...
Back lake...
Front lake..
Back 2 lakes flooding past the lodge to the front lake...

These 2 are the craziest...

The dock I have a tattoo of...
Here's a pic I took Summer '09 around July 4th...See how low the water was...how high the dock stuck out of the water...and how much beach there was between the water level & the Lodge :( :(

PLEASE PRAY FOR MY FAMILY

Things are about to get a little crazy...

Well a lot of life changes are coming up....
I put my notice in at my work & my last day is June 28th. The very next day I'm heading to Nebraska to visit my family. Sadly I'll be going alone because Rodrigo doesn't have vacation hours. But! My lovely parents will be there too :) :) :) About 3 weeks after I get back from Nebraska I'll be heading to Haiti to help orphans :) I have to raise $1200 by July 24th. So please keep me in your thoughts & prayers....I need them :)

Lucky for you(the 5 people who read my blog) All these life events should mean lots of blog updates with LOTS of pictures :)

Well I am not good at this at all!

Let me update you on whats new with us. Lately we've been going hiking a lot. Most recently we went to Big Basin in the Santa Cruz Mountains. It took us 2 hours to drive there! After 1 hour we stopped in Saratoga and ate an AWESOME deli called Blue Rock Shoot. Best sandwich I have EVER had. I guess I love anywhere that puts sprouts on :) So after our quick lunch we took a very windy 1 hour drive up the mountain. I got really car sick :( Here are some pics from our 3 HOUR hike...

Also we have 2 new "family members". We were at a Leeland, Phil Wickham, & Matt Maher concert at our church where we learned about Food for the Hungry. Food for the hungry is one of those groups that help you... to help a kid in need. We chose a blank card & waited for the mail to arrive to tell us who we'd get. We got a boy named John who lives in Haiti. Here is a picture of him.

The other new addition is this lady right here...

...we feed her, pet her, brush her, and just hangout. We don't let her in the house though :) Maybe after Sara & Brandon's visit we will :)

Yesterday we had a Yard Sale at our house with our friends Rodney & Stacy Kennedy. We had a pretty good turnout. We didn't make tons of money but it was fun none the less :) I got a farmers tan out of it :) Here's a picture of Rodney working hard....

That's all that's new for now :) Hopefully I'll update more frequently. Don't hold your breath haha
